Feb. 18th, 2013 @ 05:33 pm Hey there.
I realize that this group is dead. But the ideals behind it are things that I support.

Quite a lot of them are really good ideas and ideals.

The world has however moved on and some of them are not fit for purpose and need revamped or looked at again.

There was a calling for discretion, professionalism, and mutual respect among everyone involved in the fandom. Laugh all you want, but hopefully myself and our members can convince you otherwise and also revitalize these good ideas.

From the user info. You don't need a movement to set good examples, to change minds one person at a time. You can do it on your own, and in the end, that's really all you can do.

Doomed Premise

(Permanent Link)
The original concept of the Fandom's development, was to unite those with otherwise esoteric interests--not those followers and lovers of the commonplace and mainstream, but of the wondrous and fictitious. Do not be alarmed that the group chooses to maintain its old focus on sexual liberation, even while that notion is repeatedly sterilized and self-repressed by those who wish to carry the face of the group, to the mainstream.

What you do is noble in that you try to provide room for others; to partake in some aspects of this subculture, and not to have to partake in others--for instance, you do not have to agree with my shamanistic views, fascination in Eastern philosophy and Theology, my want to be a fox, in a carnal relationship with another fox, or my arousal in viewing a mixture of human and wild animal characteristics in artistic displays. You should not have to experience those things if you do not choose to seek them. That, I can respect.

But you're going to have difficulty removing and rerouting the Animism out of animal people, or the carnality out of animals--humans included. You're trying to remove the bacon from the BLT, and still have a sandwich, in a sense--for the sake of being kosher. (Pardon the allusion to Jewish practice)

This is something I find myself disappointed with constantly, in regard to lovers of Western theosophical values. You've lost sight of 'why' sex is sacred, how, and how that notion is even conveyed to outsiders, with any clarity. You mistake carnality for degeneracy, while overlooking your own, and you try to take what is 'remarkable' out of shared desire and beauty, and grant orthodoxy, instead. A pretty face without some ugly insides, is just an empty thing that cannot live and breathe--an empty fursuit mask.

My prayers for you all.
